Three steps, no intake call required. ClaimIndex is an editorial ranking, not a lawyer referral service.
Practice area, licensed state, fees, and response time — not TV volume.
Each firm is scored 0–100 on recoveries, client care, transparency, capacity, and ethics.
Put retainers side by side before you call. Then hire whoever you choose, directly.
We evaluate firms across 6 weighted pillars. The result is a 0–100 score you can actually compare.
What we score
U.S. compensation firms here are personal injury and mass-claims practices paid on contingency — not workers’ comp insurers, not SSA disability mills, and not claims-adjusting shops.
Passenger crashes, commercial vehicles, UM/UIM, and catastrophic highway files.
Delayed diagnosis, surgical error, birth injury — screened by physician review where available.
Third-party construction, industrial explosions, and cases beyond a standard comp claim.
Defective products, pharma, and coordinated MDL inventories with real trial capacity.
Straight answers
No. ClaimIndex does not match you with a firm, does not take a referral fee, and does not receive payment for rank. If you hire anyone listed here, that relationship is solely between you and that firm.
This edition is a working prototype of the ranking product. Real-firm scoring requires verified dockets, bar records, and rights-cleared case results. Swap the dataset in assets/js/data.js when those files are ready — the ranking engine stays the same.
Not by itself. A $1.2M average often means the firm declines smaller files. If your injury is moderate, a high-volume negotiator with a lower average can be the better fit. Use “Best for” tags and the compare tray, not the headline number alone.
One-third (33%) before a lawsuit is common; 40% after filing is also common. Costs (experts, records, depositions) may come out of your share. Always get the fee agreement in writing, including what happens if co-counsel is added.
Not as a paid endorsement. State bar advertising rules are strict. This site is consumer editorial. Firms may not imply State Bar approval or guaranteed results.
Compare top personal injury law firms based on facts, not ads.
