ClaimIndex For Law Firms

How ClaimIndex Works

We turn complex data into clear, comparable scores so you can make smarter decisions.

1. We Collect Data

From public records, case results, state bar data, and verified sources.

2. We Verify

Every data point is verified for accuracy and consistency.

3. We Score

Firms are evaluated across 6 weighted pillars to calculate their score.

4. You Decide

Compare firms side-by-side and choose with confidence before you sign.

Under the hood

What each step actually means

The four icons above are the short version. This is what happens to a firm before it appears in the table — and what you should do with the number once it does.

Collect

Public records first

State bar licensing, reported verdicts, PACER and state-court dockets where available, published fee schedules, and documented client-review corpora. Billboard copy is not a source.

Verify

Two sources or it waits

A recovery needs a public citation or a producible closing record. Duplicate “millions recovered” claims across directories are collapsed, not added.

Score

Six pillars, fixed weights

Case outcomes 35%, client experience 20%, responsiveness 15%, then transparency, experience, and licensing at 10% each. Weights are public. They do not change for advertisers — there are none.

You decide

A score is a starting point

Filter by state and practice area. Read the fee. Confirm the lawyer on the ad is the lawyer on the file. Then call more than one firm. Rankings do not hire counsel for you.

Sources

What goes in — and what is ignored

In

Documented outcomes

Settlements and verdicts from the last 36 months, severity-adjusted so minor auto volume cannot bury catastrophic work.

In

Operations you can feel

Hours to first attorney contact, whether the fee is in writing, licensed states, and bar discipline that is public.

Out

Marketing noise

TV spend, Super Lawyers, Avvo, paid directory slots, and lifetime “billions recovered” banners without a year or a docket.

How people use the ranking

Should I hire the #1 firm in the table?

Not automatically. #1 may not be licensed in your state, may not take your case type, or may be a poor fit for a smaller file. Use rank as a shortlist, then ask who will actually handle the matter.

Why do some well-known TV firms sit lower?

Awareness is not a pillar. If the public file shows slow attorney contact, opaque fees, or thin documented outcomes after severity adjustment, the score reflects that — not the media budget.

How often does this update?

Monthly in the product design. This prototype dataset is static until you swap assets/js/data.js.

Is this legal advice?

No. No attorney-client relationship is formed. If a statute of limitations may be running, speak with a licensed attorney in the injury state immediately.
